  Relocation Assistance

Moving is a natural part of life for service members and their families. The Army Community Service (ACS), Relocation program offers a comprehensive personal and family support system designed to help you and your family make any Personal Change of Station (PCS) move as smoothly as possible. Typically, five phases of relocation are experienced:

Pre-departure:
A travel plan is developed and household goods are prepared for shipment. Additionally, you will be gathering information about the new duty station to include housing options, healthcare, medical resources, and schools.

Transition:
This is the actual departure, travel and arrival at the new installation. You will be packing-out, shipping your goods, locating temporary lodging, arranging for advance benefits and entitlements, and checking out of housing.

Arrival and Orientation:
Upon arrival, the priority is meeting basic physical needs while waiting for your household goods. Additionally, you will locate appropriate healthcare, enroll children in school, and search for a home.

Settling In:
Two to six months post-arrival, you should be familiar with your new environment. Normal activities include settling into your new home, children attending school, and/or spouse searching for employment.
