Eligibility:
Active duty, DoD civilians, NSA employees, retired and reserve personnel and their family members, and contractors.
Please note:  Open toed shoes are not permitted in any portion of the Jenkins Center at anytime.   Please do not bring food or beverages with you when visiting!
 

BIRTHDAY PARTIES or PRIVATE GROUP CRAFTS service is available. Patrons may book a birthday party craft session at the center which has several fun projects to offer.  Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies, church groups or other organizations may also wish to book a craft session for their activity.
* Birthday parties or group craft sessions must be scheduled at least thirty days in advance of the planned event.

BASIC Pencil drawing CLASS

Class meets every Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. Cost is $55 per person and includes materials and instruction by Mr. Willie Kendrick.
Our instructor will teach you to amaze yourself by finding your hidden artistic ability.

Woodworking classes

The center offers a variety of woodworking classes for all levels of craft skills.  A Ladies' Beginning Woodworking class is offered on Mondays at 6 p.m and a Book case / Wooden bowl- turning class is offered on Tuesdays at 6 p.m..  Pre-registration is required for all wood classes as well as attendance in one session of the Wood Shop Safety Class that is held every Saturday at 9 a.m., free of charge!

CONTEMPORARY CERAMICS

The center features many ceramic items for painting or glazing during our regular hours and dates.

Special Youth & Adult Ceramic Painting Classes

Classes are open to ages six and older. Fee includes all materials and instruction to complete the specified project. Each class begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. on the designated Saturday and pre-registration is required for all classes.
Cost includes instruction and all the materials required to complete each project to take home.  Stop by the center to view samples of projects and to learn what classes are being offered.

Frame Shop

The center's Frame Shop offers two framing services; Custome Framing Service or "Do It Yourself" Framing.  The center's staff will frame your piece for a reasonable fee. The "Do-it-yourself" framing shop is available to frame photos, artwork, awards, flags, medals, and other items you wish to display on the wall.  Participating in one of our basic framing classes to gain your shop card is required.

"Do It Yourself" / Basic Framing classes
The class fee includes hands-on instruction of frame assembling, matting & glass cutting, two mounting techniques and all materials. Participants should bring 5x7 item to frame.

Advance Framing classes
The center also offeres a variety of advance framing classes from time to time. Basic Framing class is a pre-requisite to take any advanced classes. Stop by the center to inquire about any upcoming classes.

PIANO CLASSES & PIANO LESSONS

The Jenkins Center now offers various levels of Piano classes taught by a certified music instructor.  Stop by the center to learn when the next sessions will begin.

VARIOUS CRAFT CLASSES

Periodically, the center will also offer a variety of craft classes to the community.  Scrapbooking Classes.  When offered, the class fee includes a scrapbook and various materials. Participants must bring photos, paper cutter, scissors, adhesive, and anything you would like to use in your album.  The Center also offers Card Making Classes and other types of craft classes.  If there is a craft you would like to see offered, please stop by and offer your suggestion to the facility manager.

craft volunteers needed

The Center seeks volunteers who would like to teach or conduct various craft type classes at the center.  Come join our staff of volunteers and share your talents, skills and abilities with the community.

Wood Shop

The facility houses a complete woodworking shop -one of the finest recreational wood shops in the area. Expert craftsmen are on-hand to assist with patron's questions and needs. Equipment includes drill presses, thickness plainers, joiners, table saws, band saws, wood turning lathe, radial saw, compound mitre saw, and other power tools.  Shop Hours are contigent on volunteer staffing. Please call ahead to verify availability before coming to the center.

Wood Safety classes are offered on Saturdays 9 am, Free.
