SCHOOL LIAISON SERVICES |
The Vision of School Liaison Services is for the Army to be an active participant in a partnered education environment.
Our Mission is to improve the educational environment of school-age family members, helping ease transfers between schools for military children and maximizing opportunities for educational enrichment and academic success. Fort Meade School Liaison services helps connect Families, Schools, and Communities.
The School Liaison Officer works in conjunction with the Child and Youth Services Division and the local school community to address educational issues involving military children. Through partnering with the local and military community, the School Liaison Officer uses a variety of resources to provide assistance with issues concerning student transition. The School Liaison Officer acts as a communication link between the installation and the surrounding school districts. |

YOUTH SPONSORSHIP |
Just arrived at Fort Meade? Getting ready to move and wondering about Fort Meade? If you want to learn more about Fort Meade and Child and Youth Services, Youth Sponsorship Program, “New Kids on the Block” can help you. We provide a sponsor for family members in grades 6-12 grade. Let us help make your transition a smoother.
Youth Sponsorship helps relocated youth to become familiar with the Fort Meade community. Sponsors are matched to youth according to their gender, age, and interests. The sponsors escort incoming youth around the post, school area, and to the Child and Youth Service Centers. They introduce the new arrival to others within their age/grade level and to the various activities. There are "Hail and Farewell" activities for the newly arrived and the soon to depart youth. These social functions assist in making new friends and saying good-bye to old ones. |
