Army Childcare in Your Neighborhood (ACCIYN)
The goal of ACCYN is to increase the availability of high-quality child care options for Army Families outside the gates of the installation. Families using these high-quality programs will be eligible for child care fees comparable to those on post through fee assistance.
These programs were created to add additional hourly slots that the Child Development Centers and Family Child Care homes could not handle during their normal business hours. They are also able to provide care during non-traditional business hours. When a small number of children need care and hourly slots are not available at the CDC or through FCC then groups or units can contact the Outreach Program to set up STACC care. For more than 20 children the CDC can be opened after hours to provide a safe place for larger groups. For more than 30 it will be mandatory to go to the CDC in order to assure that the children’s safety is priority and the level of quality care is not compromised. These programs are designed to support readiness by providing childcare during family oriented sessions or meetings. By providing this alternative childcare CYS Services assist in improving the quality of life our soldiers and families have come to expect here at Fort Meade. Children must be registered with CYS Services in order to participate.
Parent Involvement Activities
Parents are considered an integral part of CYS Services and are encouraged to participate in significant aspects of programs, including program assessment, serving as volunteers and having frequent contacts with CYS Services personnel. Parents are also encouraged to provide advisory input concerning administrative policies and developmental programming to CYS Services Advisory Committees, which meet monthly. Please stop by your child’s program and ask how you can earn a 10% monthly discount.
Baby-sitter Referral
Teen military Family members age 12 years – 18 years old looking to expand and market themselves for babysitting jobs can be placed on the babysitter's referral list with parent permission.
Military parents needing babysitters must complete a request form located Parent Central Services. Once parents complete the required form, they will receive a list of babysitter information based on specified requirements (location, availability, etc). After receiving a list of babysitters, parents can make arrangements directly with the babysitter. All arrangements and fees for care are between the parent and babysitter.
If you are a teen or if you know of a teen who is interested in baby-sitting, please call Parent Central Services for registration information.
