Wow! Spring is finally here, and that means that the Special Event season is here too. On page one of this month’s newsletter we list fourteen special events…in April alone! Your Ft. Meade MWR will be busy in addition to providing the services that our patrons have pledged to defend. The big news is that activities are scheduled at the Fort Meade Pavilion almost every weekend through October. Specialty Expos, Flea Markets, and on the last Friday of the month—Movies in the Park.

One of the more novel events this month will be the Motorcycle Trade Show with Display Competition on Saturday, April 14. In the morning will be a 2 hour safety class, but from 10 to 6 the choppers will go on display to include the USO bike decorated by Weeza Art. Included in the day’s activities will be demonstrations by The Shriner’s Motorcycle Team, a motorcycle display competition, and a variety of motorcycle and accessory dealers. From noon to 6 pm, the Robert Allen Blues Band will entertain the crowd. There will be plenty of food and beverage and tables to sit and relax and soak in the atmosphere. Parking is free, and this event is open to the public. Please invite your neighbor.

The Motorcycle Display competition will be People’s Choice and limited to 25 bikes. Participants may also pre register on line at www.ftmeademwr.com. Awards will be given for first through third place in the following categories: Most patriotic, Overall Best Display, and Best in Show.
